Since at the last meeting we spoke about whether all of us had one of their proposals chosen as book of the month at least once, I thought I could highlight the books from the longlists a little bit. I try to post it along with the “book of the month” posting whenever I have the information, but it’s not that noticeable there of course.
So, the following are all the books that have been proposed as “book of the month” lately, not including the books that got chosen in the end of course as well as the books for the christmas classic. The list is not complete since I don’t have the information for some of the months, but other than that this are all the books that have been put on the list by group members. Usually, this should mean that at least one of us likes the book and recommends it.
So, in no particular order (roughly the order they appeared on the long list first) and hopefully all titles and author names correct:

- “Never Let Me Go” by Kazuo Ishiguro
- “The Carpet Makers” by Andreas Eschbach
- “Temeraire” by Naomi Novik
- “Flowers for Algernon” by Daniel Keyes

- “Black Man” by Richard Morgan

Happy reading!

By the way, I personally liked “The Carpet Makers”, “The Eyre Affair”, “Grunts!”, “Small Gods”, “The Blade Itself” and “Sunshine” very much (no wonder, all but “Sunshine” books that I put on the list *g*) and enjoyed “The Year of Our War” and “Storm Front” enough that I would recommend them.
